My Screenplay Tomorrow After SupperEnters the Stage 32 Marketplace
Some milestones mean more because of the journey it took to reach them. For me, seeing my feature screenplay, Tomorrow After Supper, enter the Stage 32 Marketplace is one of those moments.
After years of developing the story, pitching the project, and refining the screenplay, I received exciting news from Stage 32 CEO Richard “RB” Botto: Tomorrow After Supper had risen into the Stage 32 Marketplace, making it one of the first projects to enter the platform at launch.
That was a moment worth celebrating.
A Story About Family, Sacrifice, and Desperation
Set in South Jamaica, Queens, in 1994, Tomorrow After Supper is a crime drama centered on Barnes Harris, an eighteen-year-old who faces an impossible situation when his uninsured Indian immigrant mother needs a $250,000 liver transplant.
Desperate to save her life, Barnes and his two childhood friends, Demus and Baker, turn to a dangerous robbery. What begins as an act of love pulls them into a world of crime, betrayal, and devastating consequences.
At its heart, this is a story about how far someone might go for family—and what happens when desperation forces people to make choices they cannot take back.
One Son. One Desperate Choice. Everything to Lose.
Continuing to Refine the Screenplay
Reaching this milestone did not mean the work was over. I continued revising the screenplay, tightening the pacing, strengthening dialogue, improving scene transitions, and refining continuity while preserving the emotional core of the story.
The current version is a completed 126-page feature screenplay. I also developed a cinematic poster and a pitch deck to help communicate the story, its characters, and its visual direction.
I wanted the materials to reflect the care I have put into the project and give industry professionals a clearer sense of the film I envision.
What the Stage 32 Marketplace Means to Me
According to Stage 32, the Marketplace is designed to help industry professionals—including producers, financiers, managers, agents, and development executives—discover projects.
For me, this creates another opportunity for Tomorrow After Supper to reach people who may connect with its story and see its potential.
Of course, entering the Marketplace does not guarantee representation, financing, acquisition, or production. But it is an encouraging step forward, and I am grateful to see the project reach this stage.
Every screenplay has its own journey. Some move quickly, while others require years of writing, rewriting, pitching, and reconsideration. Tomorrow After Supper has taught me the value of staying committed to a story and continuing to improve the work.
Looking Ahead
I am proud of how far Tomorrow After Supper has come, and I am looking forward to seeing where this next chapter leads.
For now, I am taking a moment to appreciate the milestone, share the news, and keep moving forward. The goal remains the same: to get this story in front of the right people and give it the opportunity to become the film I have envisioned.
